Find your way around
The sidebar, the workspace switcher, the detail pane and the view selector, which work the same way in every section.
Most of Task Arrow works the same way from section to section. Once you know the patterns on this page, you'll know your way around Tasks, Projects, Lists and Custom Forms.
getting-started/app-overviewThe sidebar
The sidebar on the left takes you to each section:
| Section | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Home | Your dashboard: what's overdue, due soon and trending. |
| Tasks | Individual pieces of work. See Tasks. |
| Projects | Groups of tasks with their own status and team. See Projects. |
| Lists | Structured records such as clients, assets or vendors. See Lists. |
| Custom Forms | Forms that collect information, including from people outside your workspace. See Custom forms. |
| Calendar | Events, plus tasks and projects by date. See Calendar. |
| Workflows | Automations that act when records change. See Workflows. |
| Service Hub | Services you subscribe to or provide. See Service Hub. |
On a phone, open the sidebar from the menu button at the top of the screen.
Switch workspaces
If you belong to more than one workspace, the switcher at the top of the sidebar shows the current workspace's name and logo. Select it to move to another workspace. Everything you see (records, settings, members) changes to that workspace.
The last option in the switcher, Add Tenant, creates a new workspace with its own plan.
getting-started/workspace-switcherThe header
The top-right corner of every page has the colour mode control (light, dark or follow your device) and the options menu, which opens:
- My Account: workspace details, members, billing and plan. See My Account.
- Settings: statuses, priorities and custom fields. See Settings.
- Logout
The detail pane
Selecting a record in any list opens it in the detail pane, which slides in from the right. The pane has tabs along the top. Which tabs appear depends on the record: for a task they're Details, Comments, Sub Tasks and History.
- Breadcrumbs at the top show where the record sits, for example Website relaunch › Design review › Collect feedback. Select any crumb to jump to it.
- Save has a menu next to it with Save and New (save, then start a blank record) and Save and Close.
- If you close the pane with unsaved changes, Task Arrow asks before throwing them away.
Standard, Templates and Services views
Next to the page title in Tasks, Projects, Lists and Custom Forms is a view selector:
- Standard: your actual records.
- Templates: reusable blueprints you create records from. See Task templates.
- Services: only the templates you offer through the Service Hub. This view appears on the Pro plan, the plan that can publish services.
getting-started/view-selectorFilters
Every section has a Filter button that opens a filter pane on the right. Filters you set are remembered when you come back to the section, and Reset returns you to the section's defaults. See Filter and find tasks for the full set on tasks.
