Project templates

Reuse a project's structure, and have recurring projects created for you on a schedule.

A project template works like a task template, but for a whole project. Use one for work that has the same shape every time: client onboarding, a monthly close, an event.

Create a project template

Switch to Templates

In Projects, set the view selector next to the title to Templates and select New Project Template.

Fill in the project

Title, description, status and team are copied to every project made from the template.

Set the date rules

Start Date: No rule, On creation date, After creation date (a number of days, weeks or months) or Recurring every. Due Date (after start) sets the due date relative to the start.

Save

Select Save Project.

Create a project from a template

Open the template and select the Create project from template button next to its title. Task Arrow creates the project and works out its dates from the template's rules.

Recurring projects

Set the start date rule to Recurring every and an interval, for example 1 month, and Task Arrow creates a new project each time it comes round. As with tasks, you can pause the schedule with Recurrence active, and set Start on and End on dates.

The Templates view shows each template's rules, whether it's Active, and its Next Run.

Offer a project through the Service Hub

On the Pro plan, you can offer a project template to other workspaces as part of a service. See Create a service.
