Reminders
Have Task Arrow remind the assignee to look at a task — a set time from now, or before it's due.
A reminder emails the task's assignee at the time you choose, with a link back to the task. If they use the Task Arrow mobile app, they get a push notification too.
Add a reminder
Open the task
Reminders are in the task's Details tab, under Review reminders.
Add one
Select Add reminder.
Set when it fires
Choose an amount, a unit (hours, days or weeks) and what it counts from:
- from now: counted from when you save the task, for example 2 days from now
- before due date: counted back from the due date, for example 1 day before due date
Save the task
The reminder is scheduled when you save. Until then, the time shown next to it starts with ~ to show it's an estimate.
tasks/remindersEach reminder shows when it will fire, for example Fires Sep 24, 9:00 AM. Hover over it for the full date and when it was set.
How the timing works
- "Before due date" reminders use the assignee's time zone. 1 day before due date counts back from midnight at the start of the due date, where the assignee is. If you reassign the task, the time shown updates to match the new assignee.
- "From now" reminders keep their original countdown. A reminder set two weeks ago as 2 weeks from now shows from and the date it was set, so it's clear it's due now rather than in two more weeks. To start the countdown again, pick from now in its menu, and choose the original date there to undo that.
- A "before due date" reminder needs a due date. If you clear the due date, Task Arrow warns you that unsent before-due-date reminders will be removed when you save.
Sent reminders
After a reminder is sent, it shows Reminder sent on and the date. Select Clear to remove it from the task.
